Areas around 100 meter diameter of Hospital, Educational Institutions and specific areas recognized by Government are considered as silent zone.
Use of Horn or any other sound related to signal and loud speakers are prohibited in this silent zone

Sound Permissible Limit in Motor Vehicles and Mechanical Water Transport Vessels
Type of Vehicle
Unit
Permissible Limit
Comment
1. Motor Vehicles (all types)

dB(A)

85

100
Measured at 7.5 meter distance from emitting tube
Measured at 0.5 meter distance from emitting tube
2. Mechanical Water transport Vessels

dB(A)

85

100
Measured at 7.5 meter distance from water transport vessels at two third of maximum cyclical velocity at weightless and static condition
Measured at 7.5 meter distance in the same condition

Motor Vehicle should be kept at static condition and condition of engine should be of following type:
a. Diesel Engine>>Maximum cyclical velocity
b. Engine by Gasoline>>Weight less, acceleration at two thirds of cyclical velocity
c. Motor Cycle>> If cyclical velocity is above the level of maximum 5000 rpm then its two thirds and if cyclical velocity is less than the level of maximum 5000 rpm then it is three fourth.
